Overview
These Terms of Service govern your use of Laudo, a community-based local business recommendation app. By creating an account or using Laudo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Laudo is operated by Giancarlo Bracero ("we," "us," or "our"). These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Disputes are resolved as described in the Arbitration section below.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Laudo. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age. We collect your date of birth during account setup to verify this requirement. Users who indicate they are under 13 will be denied access and no personal information will be retained.
Users between the ages of 13 and 15 acknowledge that their data is subject to heightened protections as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share personal data of users under 16 for advertising purposes.
Laudo is currently invite-only and access is granted at our discretion.
Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account — including your date of birth — and to keep it up to date.
You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of someone else without their permission.
Personal Information and Age Verification
By providing your date of birth, you consent to us using it for age verification and to personalise your experience as described in our Privacy Policy. Providing a false date of birth to circumvent age restrictions is a violation of these terms and may result in immediate account termination.
Gender information is optional. By providing it, you consent to it being used for personalisation and anonymised aggregate insights as described in our Privacy Policy. You may update or remove your gender at any time in Settings.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Laudo only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm other users or the platform. Laudo has a strict policy against objectionable content and abusive users — violations may result in immediate and permanent account termination. You must not:
- Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Harass, bully, intimidate, or abuse other users in any way
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Provide a false date of birth or otherwise misrepresent your age
- Use Laudo to spam, harass, or solicit other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or its related systems
- Use Laudo for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute Laudo's content or data without permission
Your Content
You retain ownership of the ratings, reviews, photos, and other content you post on Laudo. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, store, and use that content within the app, for internal analytics, to improve recommendations, and in connection with promoting Laudo. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. We do not endorse any user-submitted content and take no responsibility for it.
Content Moderation
Laudo has a strict policy against objectionable content and abusive behavior. We are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful community and will act on verified reports of violations promptly.
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these terms, you can:
- Flag any rating, review, or message directly in the app using the report button
- Block any user from their profile or from within a conversation to prevent further contact
- Contact us directly at support@getlaudo.com
We review all reports and will remove objectionable content and take action against abusive users — including permanent account termination — typically within 24 hours of a verified report. Repeated or severe violations may result in immediate and permanent removal from the platform.
Business Recommendations
Laudo surfaces business recommendations from real people in your network. We do not verify the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any recommendation, rating, or review posted by users.
Promotions and Advertising
Laudo may in the future display promoted content or offers from businesses inside the app, based on your in-app behavior, approximate location, and profile information such as age range and gender, as described in our Privacy Policy. Any promoted content will be clearly labeled or otherwise identifiable as promoted content, so it is never confused with organic friend recommendations. We do not share your personal data with third-party advertisers. We do not sell or share the personal information of users under 16 for any advertising purpose.
If paid subscription features are introduced, separate payment terms will apply and you will be notified before any charges occur.
Account Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms — including providing a false date of birth — or if your use of Laudo is harmful to other users or the platform. We also reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Laudo service at any time, to the extent permitted by law.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed as described in our Privacy Policy.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Giancarlo Bracero, the operator of Laudo, from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of Laudo, content you post, or your violation of these terms, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or willful misconduct.
DMCA and Copyright
Laudo respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that content on Laudo infringes your copyright, please send a notice to support@getlaudo.com with the following information:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- A description of where the infringing content is located in the app
- Your contact information
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
We will review valid notices and remove infringing content as appropriate.
Intellectual Property
All rights in the Laudo app, including its design, code, branding, and features, are owned by Giancarlo Bracero. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use our name, logo, or trademarks without prior written permission.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Laudo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranties about the accuracy or reliability of any content on the platform.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Giancarlo Bracero shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Laudo. In no event shall our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Laudo exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
Arbitration and Class Action Waiver
Informal Resolution First. Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@getlaudo.com and give us 30 days to attempt an informal resolution. Either party may initiate arbitration if the dispute is not resolved within that period.
Binding Arbitration. Except as set out below, any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Laudo shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, not in court, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration may be conducted remotely or in writing unless otherwise agreed. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. The arbitrator shall have exclusive authority to determine the scope and enforceability of this arbitration agreement.
Carveouts. Arbitration does not apply to: (a) claims for emergency injunctive or equitable relief; (b) intellectual property disputes; (c) claims that qualify for small claims court in your jurisdiction.
Costs and Venue. Each party bears their own costs unless the arbitrator determines otherwise. Any disputes not subject to arbitration shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts of Delaware.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. Your continued use of Laudo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
